A New Heat Treatment line at Forges de Monplaisir

After having invested in a new 2 000 Tons hydraulic press in 2010 to manufacture forged parts, Forges de Monplaisir invests in a new Heat Treatment line compliant with AMS 2750 E.

The investment (€1.8 million) includes an automatic manipulator, a hardening furnace, quenching baths (Oil, water), two tempering furnaces and an air blowing cool down station. Loads up to 3 tons and bars up to 3 500 mm can be processed on the new line which is operational since March 2017.

As explained by Laurent Crepet (Plant Manager), “Heat treating with furnaces in compliance with AMS 2750 E will enable us to enter the aeronautical market. Our target is mainly subcontractors in need of small/medium size forged products (Max 800 kg) with short delivery terms. We will offer a wide range of forged steel grades to our customers (Superalloys, special steel, stainless steel and non alloyed steel)”.
