The region regroups numerous aerospace industry leaders driven by Aerospace Cluster Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
During the Paris Air Show, Laurent Wauquiez, the president of the region, announced the companies his first training aid plan that will allow them meet their recruitment needs and to remain at the cutting edge of innovation. According to the president of the region, the first funding instalment will be of 20M €.
The president of Aerospace Cluster Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, François Bergez, reminded of three main competence areas in which regional aerospace companies operate: innovative materials, embedded systems and MRO. He also underlined that the best technological offer (on a national scale) to be found on the exhibition was displayed by Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes companies. According to François Bergez, the region is strong with 30000 jobs and 350 companies on the territory, that’s why it is important to make this strong region well-known. He also agrees that training and recruitment are challenges in the industry. Finally, he underlined the importance of creating a direct link between PMEs and large enterprises for their collaboration, which is one of the cluster’s missions.
